Sales funnel that leads to conversion
A typical sales funnel consists of 6 phases
- Awareness
- Interest
- Evaluation
- Engagement
- Commitment/Purchase
- Follow up
Awareness - Understanding our unique selling proposition and our target audience
- Learning where our target audience spends most of the time. Is it on twitter/facebook/linkedin ?
- Creating content tailored to the social media channels
Interest - Keeping customer hooked in when they visit the page
- Creating efficient landing pages with content that leads to conversion
- Analyze parts of the page that get the most attention by collecting data about customer's navigation patterns.
- Converting visitors into contacts by prompting them to drop their email address when they visit the site
- Using a marketing chat system that'd help visitors to clarify their concerns
- Incorporating a lead capture system that uses an email address to determine important information about the visitor, such as contact information, demographics, and financial data
Evaluation - Pushing prospects further down the funnel using explanatory videos or demo videos(app or mobile).
- Providing helpdesk assistance to customers in case of a free trial of products
Engagement - Building a positive relationship with the prospective customers
- Involves maintaining customer contacts and tracking analytics about email campaigns
- Hosting webinars for brand boosting
- Running contests, quizzes or polls to ensure customer engagement
Commitment/Purchase - Offering prospects a choice between full payment and instalments or choice between the debit card, credit card or cash
- Offering the customer a free month of membership which might bring further leads by "word of mouth" marketing.
- Creating urgency( "the offer is valid till next week" or "there are only two spots left")
Follow up - Acquiring new customers is six to seven times costlier than retaining current ones.
- Customer retention comes into play. Retention strategies involve providing customer support, surveying customers and offering discounts.
